Sabula Gazette
June 13, 1885
Reprinted in the Jackson Sentinel, June 17, 1885.

The Hon. Fred W. Fitch, of Savanna, who has been suffering from poor health for some time past, died at his home at that city, on Thursday inst., aged 47 years. Mr. Fitch was agent for the C. M. & St. Paul railroad company nearly twenty years, though he had not been with them for a year or more past and as a local politician had gained some notoriety. He was an earnest, energetic speaker and took an active part in the campaigns. He was re-elected mayor of the City of Savanna a number of times.
