Sterling Stuhldryer SAVANNA - Sterling "Butch" Stuhldryer, 51, of Savanna, died Saturday, October 23, at Galena Strauss Hospital in Galena. He was self - employed as a plumber, electrician, and heating and air conditioning specialist and had owned and operated Butch's Home Service since 1971. He enjoyed fishing, welding, cooking, woodcutting, dancing and playing the drums. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Mr. Stuhldryer was born September 29, 1942 in Webster City, Iowa to Harvey and Lilla Stuhldryer. He married Janet Whetstine Feb. 09, 1964 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Teresa Stuhldryer of Savanna and Mrs. Daniel (Lisa) Smith of Washington, Iowa; one son Sterling Mark Stuhldryer of Dubuque, Iowa; two grandchildren; his mother, Lilla Proesch of Boone, Iowa; his father, Harvey Stuhldryer of Savanna; three sisters, Sandy Watters of Boone, Iowa, Mrs. Martin (Marie) Hansen of Savanna, and Mrs. John (Barbara) Weltz of Savanna; five brothers, Larry Stuhldryer of Clinton, Iowa, Dennis and Reginald Stuhldryer, both of Boone, Iowa, Curtis Stuhldryer of Camanche, Iowa, and Arley Stuhldryer of Portland, Ore. Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Savanna with Rev. Carol Kirkpatrick of the First Presbyterian Church of Hanover officiating.
