Obituary: Mt Carroll Newspaper

Warren Arb, 74, Native of City, Dies in Chicago

Warren "Denny" Arb, about 74, native of Mount Carroll, died Tuesday at 10 pm at Holy Cross Hospital, Chicago. He had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Clark Babcock and her husband over a year and since his wife died shortly over a year ago. The body accompanied by the daughter and her husband, was brought to Mount Carroll Wednesday and was taken to the Christian Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.

Prior to living in Chicago the deceased resided with his wife in Clinton, Iowa. She is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. Her maiden name was Luly McClay.

Mrs. J. W. Ivey and Mrs. Luva Asay are nieces and Ernest Arb is a nephew. All are of Mount Carroll. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at the Christian Funeral Home with the Rev. Maurice Lesber of St Paul Evangelical Church, Clinton, IA. officiating.

Services for Mrs Warren G Arb, 210 South Third Street, who died Christmas Day, were held this afternoon in the Dalton Funeral Home with the Rev Maurice E Lesher of St Pauls Lutheran Church officiating. Miss Effie Grumsrup sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Abide With Me" accompanied by Harry Rohwer, Jr organist.

Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt Carroll, IL. Pallbearers were Glenn Mitchell, Leonard Stadel, Chester Adams, W J Eveym Ernest Arb, George Asey. Honorary pallbearers Edward Walsh, (illegible), Major Howard McEleney, (illegible), Ralph Tatem Glenn (illegible),

Here from out of town were Mr and Mrs Clark Babcock and daughters, Coralie and Gloria and Mrs John Collins and children Judy, Denny and Robert, J...all of Chicago and Mr and Mrs Robert Johnson and sons, Larry and Jerry and Mr and Mrs Clifford Hammell and Darryl Hammel all of Lafayette, Ind.
