JOHN H RATH, 79, Route 1, Savanna, died at his home Saturday night.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Savanna, where he was a member. The Rev. Wayne Schneider will officiate, with burial in Mosquito Hill Cemetery, rural Savanna. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Law-Jones Funeral Home.

Mr. Rath was born Oct. 21, 1895, in Washington Township to Henry and Rosie Bethly Rath. He married Clara Randecker Sept 19 1937, in Bellevue, and was a farmer, retiring in 1970.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Harlan, Savanna; three grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Haas, Savanna, and Mrs. Matilda Goetz and Mrs. Francis (Freeda) Schmidt, Milwaukee, Wis. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
